At the end of photographing a wedding, we are usually worn out, sweaty, sore, and ready to hit the bed. But before we leave we make sure everything is backed up, all our gear is ready, and last but not least we partake in the best way to end the day. We eat cake! I feel as if I have now become a connoisseur of wedding cakes and have tried every sort of flavor you can think of. From carrot cake to white cake, the possibilities are endless. And I love all these possibilities because I LOVE CAKE! There are several tragedies that can befall cakes, and I have seen it all. There is the absolutely beautiful cake that tastes so bad you can't finish a piece. There is the cake that doesn't look so great but tastes amazing. And there is the mediocre looking cake that tastes just as mediocore as it looks. The rare jewel that is found is the cake that not only looks stunning, but tastes so good you have to force yourself not to go back for seconds. That is exactly what Maples Wedding Cakesis. Jay Qualls of Maples creates such beautifully elegant cakes that are so moist and delicious I sometimes crave them during the day. It is a dangerous habit to fall into. For the last few years I have had the honor to go to Jay's business in Murfreesboro and photograph these cakes for his website. This year we styled the set even more, and I love how the images turned out. Here are a few of my favorites!

Have I made you hungry yet? I sure am!

I met Alyssa last fall when she interviewed with me to work with TVC Youth. After meeting with her, I immediately knew she would be an amazing youth leader. Her first day of leading a small group at Bible study, she called to ask if it would be OK if she missed her first day because Tim surprised her the night before with a proposal. As a part of it, he brought her family into town from Texas. Obviously, I let her have the day off.

I never expect my friends to book with Dove Wedding Photography, because I always want them to find the wedding photographer that is the best match for them. We were honored when Alyssa and Time decided that Dove would be their choice.

Those in Nashville know that we have been having a cold January & February. However, we found a couple days in January that happened to warm up a bit. So, off we went on our shoot in hopes that we would complete it before the rain kicked in. It actually started to rain, but it made the end of the session a little more fun.

Alyssa and Tim met at Belmont University and love hanging around Hillsboro Village. So we hit Cafe Fido for some hot drinks to warm ourselves back up before we went out into the rain to shoot a little more around the streets of the Village.
